1951 - Bill Veeck purchases
1952 - Veeck tries to move to LA
1953 - Browns move to Baltimore - Veeck must relinquish ownership

As a first year man in '52, Jim's all-around effective play at 3rd Base and the Outfield earned him a shot on the Major League Rookie All Star Team. Against the White Sox in August, Jim hit 2 HR's - 1 in the 8th to tie the score and the other in the 11th to win the game 3-2. His 27 Homers and 127 RBI's led the Texas League in '51 and Jim was named the League's Most Valuable Player.
